24 Jul The Royal Mile Edinburgh
The Royal Mile is a very prestigious road located right in the centre of Edinburgh which actually measures a little more than a mile long.
The Royal Mile runs down the East shoulder of the once active volcano in Edinburgh and this is what gives the Royal mile its distinguishable geographical location. The photographs are for the annual report showing the companies involvement in this prestigious part of Edinburgh.
CPI Euromix are one of my clients and they asked me to photograph the work been carried out relaying cobblestones and pavements of the Royal Mile. They are supplying the specialist fibre reinforced mortar in which the cobbles are laid. The inflatable ‘nissen’ huts provide weather protection and insulation for heating to enable this work to be undertaken during the coldest months and also I presume keep the progress on programme.
In the afternoon I photographed a couple of other sites which were not quite so well located as this one. Daylight hours at this time of the year are limited, but we certainly had some nice clear blue skies for this work. These are just a few of the shots and I think we achieved very much including two flights here and back in a day.
